So, I am visiting my folks in NY this week, and my stepdad got me a guest pass to the gym. The what? Oh, yeah, that place I used to go all the time before my days suddenly got too full and I got hella lazy.
So ... I haven't run since Christmas. Yikes! I don't know how it's gonna go today. I am planning on walking and running for about 30 minutes. And then I'm going into the hot tub! (Yep, for some reason, this gym has a hot tub and I WILL be going in it).
In other news, I rejoined Twitter (see top right corner of this page). Feel free to follow me!
Yep, that's all for now. I'm boring.

Doing Fine!
That's all!
Weird that when I don't have an event to train for, I find myself with less and less to write. Especially since I have been working more and working out less. Meh.
But I did get in a quality yoga workout yesterday, and ran 4 miles on the treadmill today. (Seems like the only option these days; we just got dumped with another 4-5 inches of snow this weekend....) I think the key to going to the "fake gym" is to just get up and go really early (i.e., whenever I wake up). This way, I get it out of the way. Somehow, I always find myself feeling more sluggish in the mid-afternoon and I'm more likely to skip out on a workout than if I just do it first thing in the morning.
So it felt great to run, even though it was all hot and...treadmilly. No icy cool breeze, no flush in the cheeks (well there was, but it was because I was hot instead of because of the wind!), no seeing your breath in the crisp winter air. Gee, it really sounds like I enjoy running outside even in the wintertime. I guess I do! I just don't want to risk slipping on ice and falling.
Superbowl plans are yet undefined...might go hang out with friends, might not. And I'm really ok with either one, because I don't even like football! Just doing it for the hubby. Ah, the things we do for love.

No Excuses
That's what my Gatorade bottle says, and I've been staring it in the face all day.
Have had an annoying headache since yesterday. Blah, blah, blah. No excuses.
Had a long day at work, filled with "normal" as well as "unusual" stress factors. I worked an hour later than I was supposed to. Blah, blah, blah. No exuses.
It's raining tonight, which makes me want to just curl up on the couch with my fleece throw and watch TV. Blah, blah, blah. No excuses.
Because...I brought my workout clothes with me to work today! I brought a snack for after work just so I would have one less excuse not to work out. And Derek's still out of town, so I don't really have a reason to go right home after work. And I brought that annoying reality check of a Gatorade bottle.
No excuses, then! I worked out in my "fake gym" (I'll just call it that from now on) and felt amazing. I know people say this all the time, but once I got started, I really wasn't tired, even though I first got on the treadmill at around 9 pm. The only problem now (like last night's hot yoga session) was that now I'm bouncing off the walls a little bit. I know that'll calm down in about an hour, and I'll sleep well tonight...
I'm glad I forced myself to be active tonight.
